COMMITTEE/ COUNCIL OPPORTUNITIES

Governing School Site Council (GSSC):

  • Makes decisions for programs operated at the school to improve student achievement. 
  • Develops and approves the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) in consultation with all stakeholders
  • Works with other committees as needed to approve and implement SPSA
  • Promotes, maintains, and supports the vision and the mission of the school
  • Oversees all budgets
  • Must meet at least eight (8) times per year
  • Includes principal, lead teacher, 1 classified staff, 3 teachers, 3 parent representatives, and 3 student representatives.


English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC):

  • Advises the Governing School Site Council on the development of the Single Plan (SPSA), especially those sections related to English Learners.
  • Assists in the development of the school’s Needs Assessment, Language Census (R-30)
  • Sustain efforts to make parents aware of the importance of regular school attendance.
  • Meets monthly
  • Composed of five members: three elected parent representatives of English Language Learners and two elected teacher representatives.
